I don't know if you take questions....but my family of five (three small children) will be renting a home or apartment in Southwestern France - near Biarritz or St. Jean de Luz. We hope that our French friends from around the country might come stay with us there. We also have friends in Spain - some within driving distance (Bilbao) and some in southern Spain (Sevilla, Cordoba). Are there any suggestions for "package" deals of flights or car rentals to be able to move around from our home base while we are there? Thanks for any suggestions!

The Cellular Abroad service you mention was a good service for our three weeks in Europe, across multiple countries. The problem is the very misleading "call this three digit number and automatically add more time to your account". The call is billed against your account and even being on hold for four minutes was used against my time. This is completely lame. Worse, the documention included with the SIMM card clearly states you can get more time added via the web. This is a logical service to assume, but in fact it is no where to be found on their web site. Ultimately you must call a 9-5 person in California, and wait for them to get to you, while the meter runs. This one issue is the only negative one as the service, technically, worked as advertised. But caveat emptor on the need to add time.

Another great option for travel coverage is Travel Assist Network, which provides medical evacuation, travel protection, and critical information services to business and leisure travelers worldwide. The Air Rescue Card offers evacuation to the hospital of your choice, guaranteed return of spouse and dependent children, has no age limit, and covers travelers from 99 miles away from home. www.travelassistnetwork.com
