JetBlue to New Yorkers: Welcome Aboard for $10 If You Book By Tonight
You've got 'til midnight tonight, Central time, to snare a promotional, $10 fare on JetBlue for travel Tuesday (March 9th) and Wednesday (March 10th) from New York's JFK airport to any of JetBlue's first ten cities it served when the airline began 10 years ago.
Those cities include Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Fort Myers, FL. Also included are Buffalo and Rochester, NY; Oakland, CA; Burlington, VT; and Salt Lake City, UT.
The last-minute promotion, just announced, is in celebration of the airline's tenth birthday. On Wednesday, JetBlue will use Twitter to announce more giveaways for New York-area customers. And there will be new offers every month during this year.
As I write this, the airline's web site is experiencing "technical difficulties" that I'm guessing are the result of this announcement.

Rudy Maxa-I have been recording your shows and I cannot believe how professional and wonderful they are. I thought Rick Steves was the best but you leave him in the dust though I dearly love him. I learn so much from every show. The photography is also the very best. You are indeed the best travel journalist I have seen. I have travelled all over the world-spent most of my extra money doing it and am also an art lover. I want to thank you for your shows - I would like to see more current shows and also some budget ideas for hotels as I am now a retired person on a tight budget who still craves travel to Europe.

Ronnie: What a most kind e-mail! I'm glad you're enjoying the shows, and I wish I could tell you when we'll have our next batch of shows on public television. It's been a VERY difficult last 18 months when it comes to raising corporate underwriting, which as you know make the shows possible. I have six new shows in the can, but until I can raise the funds to edit them, they'll have to remain "in the can." Believe me, I'll let the world know when we have a new season ready to show off!
As for budget hotels in Europe, I think Rick is the best source for that information. His guidebooks are excellent. I haven't shot but about three shows in Europe in the last couple of years, so I'm not up to speed on hotels you need to know about.

This is the kind of stuff that I would love to keep up to date with. When I went travelling (lasted only 2 months) I met people who were always getting flights for next to nothing. I couldn't understand how because I'd paid 15 times more for my flight within the UK than they had to travel to Europe and beyond. Is there a resource for things like this?
